TRARALGON junior football umpires kept it all in the family at the weekend with husbands, wives, daughters, brothers and uncles officiating together.
Several families from the Traralgon Umpires Association took to the fields for the inaugural Family Round.
First year umpire Lyndal Pettie helped organise the event after she realised there were so many field and boundary umpires that were related.
``We started organising things earlier this year when my niece started to umpire football and we thought that we would do a game with all our relatives,'' Lyndal said.
``But then we noticed there were many other families involved and thought `why not do it for all?'.
``That's how the concept was born and it took off really well, it's been well received.''
Lyndal said it was a ``logistical nightmare'' trying to get families umpiring at the same venue but despite the headache the day turned out great.
``Its a pretty good league and we (the umpires) don't have too many problems, the only one we had on the weekend was the weather,'' Lyndal said.
``We plan to do another Family Round next year but this depends on which umpires stick around and who plans on retiring.''
Lyndal umpired the Traralgon and District Junior Football League under 14s game between Tedas and Glengarry with husband Sean, niece Brooke and and brother Tony.
About 20 umpires were involved in the family round including the MacKenzie, Ogden, Watt, Pettie, McLachlan, Dodd, Eccles and Falla families.
